Founder's Message

When the world turned its back on Afghan women, I could not. I saw brilliant young girls forced out of their classrooms, mothers stripped of their livelihoods, and daughters growing up believing that learning was a sin. What broke my heart most was not only their silence — it was their fading hope. I founded the Farkhunda Foundation to reignite that hope, to remind every Afghan woman that her voice, her dreams, and her intelligence are powerful beyond measure.

Today, under Taliban rule, Afghan women are facing one of the darkest chapters in modern history. Education has been banned, jobs have been stolen, and their right to simply exist freely has been denied. But even in this darkness, Afghan women remain unshaken in spirit. Their courage fuels our mission. Through education, mentorship, and empowerment programs, we are building a movement that reaches into homes, villages, and hearts — proving that no regime can suppress the light of knowledge.

My dream is simple but urgent: to educate and empower thousands of women across Afghanistan within the next five years — to give them not only the tools to survive, but the confidence to lead, to teach, to rebuild their nation. The world must not forget them. Through the Farkhunda Foundation, we will continue to stand with every Afghan woman until she can once again walk to school without fear, speak her truth without punishment, and live her life with dignity and pride.
